Job Overview

City Wide Mechanical LLC is a reputable mechanical contracting firm that specializes in commercial plumbing and mechanical systems. We are seeking a proficient and experienced Mechanical and Plumbing Estimator to thrive in our dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role involves the crucial task of formulating bids and proposals for plumbing and mechanical piping projects with precision and timeliness.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with a robust work ethic. They should be capable of working autonomously while also being an integral part of a collaborative team. Attention to detail is paramount, as is the ability to identify inconsistencies in project documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to ascertain the scope of work and estimation needs.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings as necessary.
  • Conduct material takeoffs and assess subcontractor requirements.
  • Draft requests for proposals to suppliers and subcontractors for specific project components.
  • Generate comprehensive estimates.
  • Review final estimate packages with supervisory staff to ensure accuracy and thoroughness before submission.
  • Engage in bid strategy discussions and presentations as required.
  • Oversee awarded contracts and facilitate the transition to project management, including preparing lists of submittals and materials for the project.
  • Travel may be required for bid meetings and site evaluations.
  • Demonstrate the capability to prepare proposals with minimal oversight.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with estimating software.
  • In-depth knowledge of plumbing, piping, and mechanical trades.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating or management within the commercial or industrial plumbing and mechanical sectors.
  • Detail-oriented with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Effective decision-making skills.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
