The Facilities and Equipment Operations Manager oversees all facets of the upkeep and repair of mechanical refrigeration systems and monitoring technologies, in addition to managing all facility support systems (security, electrical, generators, HVAC, etc.).

This role is crucial for ensuring adherence to company equipment/system validation and maintenance protocols.

As necessary, the manager will execute, coordinate, and/or supervise repairs ranging from simple to complex for all laboratory and biorepository equipment, as well as electrical and mechanical systems within the facility.

This position will also act as the primary liaison for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) matters at the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Management:
Coordinate and perform maintenance for operational equipment
Schedule maintenance and monitor repair activities
Oversee maintenance and validation tasks for all mechanical refrigeration units.

This includes a comprehensive evaluation of critical systems, such as oil levels, compressor functionality, electrical demand, and calibration of temperature reading devices.

Analyze freezer malfunctions and assess potential causes
Diagnose and evaluate the complexity of repair needs
Address all issues as capable

Facility Management:
Install and/or coordinate maintenance, repair, and operation of Central Monitoring Systems (CMS)
Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on CMS
Oversee the upkeep of all building HVAC, electrical, and backup power systems
Assess and/or resolve general facility issues, including roof leaks, plumbing, drywall repairs, etc.
Respond appropriately to Building Security Alarms
Schedule and/or supervise routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC and Generator systems
Participate in the Facilities Group On-Call, responding to urgent emergencies

Leadership:
Supervise and manage staff in alignment with corporate objectives and culture, fostering an environment where ideas are valued, initiative is encouraged, and success is recognized.
Address facility and equipment issues promptly during and after business hours
Stay informed on emerging facility technologies and monitoring systems
Collaborate with lab and site management on supply chain matters (lab, office, café supplies).
Assist Senior Management in planning, designing, and constructing current and future facilities
Coordinate relevant parties during emergencies at the facility (power outages, non-conformance, etc.)

Enhance employee awareness of safety protocols, including safety tours, security alarms, fire drills, and emergency exit routes.

Perform additional duties/projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical or maintenance roles
5 years of experience in HVACR, electrical, or similar repair positions
2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity

Other Requirements:
Ability to install low voltage electrical wiring
HVACR and EPA certification for handling refrigerants
Valid driver's license for the state of operation
Willingness to travel, including overnight stays
Maintain a safe driving record and provide proof annually.
Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English fluently.

Preferred:
Formal training in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR)
Associate degree in Engineering

This compensation range considers various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differentials associated with the position's location.

At Precision, it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, as compensation decisions depend on the specific circumstances of each case.

This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.
