Job Overview

DPR Construction is in search of an MEP Project Coordinator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction. This role entails the daily coordination of all facets related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, low voltage systems, and fire sprinkler scopes within various projects. The MEP Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with all project team members, project executives, and regional leadership, and will be accountable for the following responsibilities:
  • Providing estimating support, conducting subcontractor bid evaluations, managing schedules, overseeing project logistics, and performing constructability assessments concerning MEP systems.
  • Assisting both pre-construction and project teams in analyzing trade partners' estimates and costs related to design modifications.
  • Managing the interface between the owner and architect during the planning and installation of systems including electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, process piping, low voltage systems, fire/life safety, and fire protection design/construction coordination.
  • Participating in the review of all MEP-related shop drawings and submittals.
  • Contributing to the formulation of comprehensive commissioning plans for all MEP systems, which outline test requirements, necessary inspections, factory start-up of major equipment, factory acceptance testing, documentation requirements, and integrated test plans demonstrating full system functionality.
  • Overseeing the coordination of MEP systems through the project’s virtual design and construction processes.
  • Providing onsite construction support for MEP systems, including overseeing start-up, balancing, commissioning, and validation certification, along with owner training and project closeout.
  • Developing and managing project-specific MEP quality and safety programs, including leading safety cause mapping for post-MEP safety incidents.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a flexible, detail-oriented team player capable of managing multiple tasks, delivering high-quality work, and consistently meeting deadlines. The successful applicant will possess:
  • A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering principles and relevant codes.
  • The ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to identify and resolve complex issues related to MEP design and construction.
  • Experience in conducting complex meetings with multiple participants, issuing minutes promptly, and following up on deliverables.
  • A good grasp of fire/life safety and fire sprinkler systems, and their integration with mechanical and electrical building systems.
  • Knowledge of the testing and balancing process and its requirements.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems and their sequences as they pertain to MEP.
  • An understanding of MEP-related safety regulations.
  • The capability to foster a culture of safety within a construction environment.
  • Proficiency in current virtual design and construction software.
  • Experience with CPM scheduling and lean pull planning processes, with knowledge of Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam.
  • Comfort in an open and collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • The capacity to create and nurture a positive team atmosphere.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an MEP coordinator, ideally within DPR's core markets.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
  • This position is salaried.
Anticipated Salary Range:
$107,000 - $160,000.00
