Immediate Opportunity for an Automation Systems Engineer

Compensation:
$90,000 - $115,000

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree from an ABET Accredited Institution

Preferred Fields:
Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

Minimum of 6 years of experience in automation and information systems, specifically within packaging and process systems for the food, beverage, or consumer products sectors.


Key Skills Required:
  • Extensive experience in PAC/PLC programming and configuration, particularly with RSLogix 5000 software
Proficiency in HMI programming and configuration using at least one of the following software packages: FTView, Wonderware, GE Intellution/iFix/Proficy
Expertise in the design and configuration of DeviceNet, ControlNet, and Ethernet/IP
Experience with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex family variable frequency drives (VFDs), including their integration into control networks and configuration
Ability to start up and commission complex automated systems
Strong interpersonal skills for client and project team interactions to ensure successful project outcomes.

Desirable Qualifications:
Machine Safety TUV Certification
In-depth motion control knowledge (Rockwell Automation)
Expertise in PlantPAx or Batch systems

Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive functional design specifications and logic narratives that outline systems and features.
Architect system designs including PACs/PLCs, networks, HMIs, servers, etc.

Create PAC/PLC and HMI programs based on established functional design specifications or logic narratives, adhering to the programming standards required for each project.

Implement systems at client locations and engage with clients at various levels to ensure project success.
Oversee the design efforts for control panel fabrication and system installation packages.
Lead and coordinate the activities of both internal and external project resources to meet project objectives.
Ensure that deliverables are technically sound and align with client requirements.
Manage project scope, budget, and timeline to fulfill commitments made to clients while ensuring profitability.
Build and maintain relationships with clients throughout project execution.
Conduct progress meetings with project teams, clients, and vendors at various locations.
Direct and manage field activities during installation and startup phases at client sites.
Willingness to undertake necessary tasks to ensure project success, including programming, design, installation, startup support, documentation, client follow-up, vendor follow-up, and procurement.
Mentor and develop internal project resources while executing projects.
