Project Systems Engineer

The Project Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, specification, and management of integrated systems installations. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of project oversight from initial conception through to final installation and completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Assess work hour estimations based on needs analysis and project scope.
3. Create engineering and architectural drawings, including RCP and floor plans, along with performing calculations and acoustical modeling.
4. Identify and resolve technical or logistical challenges that may impact project delivery.
5. Determine special project requirements, including test equipment and specialized tools.
6. Conduct testing of audio DSP or video processing systems to ensure functionality.
7. Offer engineering support to the installation team as necessary.
8. Oversee the commissioning of systems both in-house and on-site.
9. Engage with current and potential vendors to evaluate product offerings.
10. Provide clients with weekly project updates and monitor project budgets.
11. Design wall plates and overlays as required.
12. Test integrated systems and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
13. Collaborate with the Project Manager to secure necessary installation personnel.
14. Assist in the project hand-off to the installation team.
15. Deliver documented test results from system testing and commissioning to the Project Manager.
16. Review project designs created by internal and external teams and coordinate with the CAD department.
17. Travel to various job sites as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Proven business writing capabilities.
- Proficiency with testing and calibration equipment.
- Experience in user acceptance testing.
- Ability to program, modify, and troubleshoot systems (AMX/Crestron).
- Competence in diagnosing complex system issues.
- Advanced computer skills for AV equipment design and operation.
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; formal education in Electronics or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the AV industry is preferred.
- A four-year degree is advantageous.
Work Environment:
The work environment is characterized by a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere, conducive to innovative project execution.
