Your collaboration will span across various disciplines, including design engineering, metrology, chemistry, and clinical practices, all aimed at enhancing advancements in clinical methods and product designs related to Presbyopia, Myopia, and Astigmatism Correction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver ophthalmic designs and related documentation utilizing advanced optical and mechanical design systems and analytical techniques.
- Conduct development and validation of clinical and predictive vision models to facilitate design exploration and optimization.
- Provide data analyses, image processing, or simulation-based summaries of clinical and bench lens data, employing insights from vision science to guide lens design objectives, clinical benchmarks, and engineering tolerances.
- Engage effectively with Project Leads, functional managers, cross-franchise subject matter experts, and clinicians to meet R&D goals and project timelines.
- Collaborate with colleagues, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers to establish design specifications and tolerances.
- Drive innovative designs from initial concept through research and early development phases to successful product launch.
- Apply scientific and engineering principles to the research and development of medical devices and technologies, providing engineering expertise to support development initiatives.
- Offer optical engineering and visual optics consulting throughout the organization while contributing to the development of intellectual property.
- Maintain awareness of business operations beyond your immediate team and understand how external factors influence your area of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Optical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Vision Science, Visual Optics, or Physics.
- Demonstrated experience in developing innovations within vision science or visual optics is preferred.
- Strong analytical capabilities, including proficiency in data analysis tools such as MATLAB, Minitab, Python, or JAVA.
- Experience in optical design, preferably with ZEMAX.
- Familiarity with CAD software, with CREO being advantageous.
