Job Summary

The Mechanical Systems Engineering Intern will play a key role in supporting the development of new aircraft systems, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, test, and validate mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Product Development Team to create engineering deliverables, including development test plans, engineering work orders, and CAD modeling and drawings.
  • Contribute to the design and testing of mechanical systems, including CAPS (Cirrus Aircraft Parachute System), Mechanical Systems, Pneumatics Systems, Ice Protection System, Powerplant Installation, and Fuel Systems.
  • Work with the Systems Engineering team to develop and implement system-level designs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Participate in design reviews and testing activities to ensure the quality and reliability of mechanical systems.

Requirements

  • Upper-division student pursuing an Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree, with a strong foundation in statics and dynamics, thermodynamics, calculus, technical writing, and 3D CAD design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
