Position Overview

Cirrus Aircraft is seeking a skilled Aircraft Systems Engineering Lead specializing in Pneumatic Systems. This leadership role involves overseeing the design, development, integration, and certification of various aircraft systems, including Bleed Air, Oxygen, Environmental, Pressurization, and Ice Protection across multiple platforms. The individual will manage a team of engineers and designers, ensuring effective collaboration and project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, including structural and electrical teams, across Cirrus Aircraft's product lines.
  • Engage with the Advanced Design & Development team to integrate new technologies into upcoming projects.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers and Program Managers for onboarding, technical support, and performance evaluations.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in the design and development of pneumatic systems.
  • Select and liaise with component and system suppliers.
  • Guide team members in conducting on-aircraft and laboratory testing of pneumatic systems to ensure compliance with performance and certification standards.
  • Participate actively in the development and certification processes of pneumatic systems in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Research industry standards and best practices to inform design decisions.
  • Manage initiatives focused on cost efficiency, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Define and execute systems engineering processes effectively.
  • Review and approve 3D models and technical documentation related to pneumatic systems.
  • Evaluate and authorize heat transfer and fluid flow analyses concerning system designs.
  • Lead trade studies assessing weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills to address technical issues and demonstrate initiative in problem-solving.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools proficiently.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in pneumatic systems is preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of at least 5 individuals is highly desirable.
