Position Overview:

WEG Electric Corp. is seeking a dedicated Automation Quality Specialist to enhance our quality assurance efforts. This role is pivotal in coordinating quality initiatives within WEG Automation, acting as a bridge between our clients and manufacturing facilities. The specialist will oversee the execution of quality measures, including inventory management and corrective action strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, collaborating with plant quality engineers to efficiently resolve issues.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of communication strategies, including client correspondence and quality standards.
  • Provide clients with timely updates on the status of quality concerns and requests.
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints by assembling cross-functional teams focused on root cause analysis and sustainable solutions.
  • Promote continuous improvement by sharing insights and implementing best practices across production facilities to minimize non-conformances.
  • Guide plant quality personnel in problem-solving techniques and quality methodologies.
  • Engage in regular client reviews, preparing and presenting updates on ongoing quality issues.
  • Monitor quality performance metrics and collaborate with factories to implement corrective action plans addressing quality challenges at their source.
  • Work with manufacturing sites to generate corrective action reports for clients.
  • Set short- and medium-term objectives for the quality department, outlining actions and strategies to mitigate the impact of quality issues.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are current and aligned with the quality standards set by the parent organization.
  • Develop corrective action plans for nonconforming products.
  • Train temporary staff and employees on inspection and corrective action protocols.
  • Establish inspection procedures with clear pass/fail criteria.
  • Coordinate inspections of samples and pilot batches from factories to ensure product quality prior to shipment.
  • Conduct statistical analyses to assess product and process performance, utilizing Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Generate and review monthly reports on failures and quality issues from other factories, sharing findings with the team as part of proactive measures.
  • Innovate and implement new quality methods and tools.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
Skills and Expertise:
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Understanding of schematics, technical drawings, and service manuals.
  • Strong product knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Technical expertise in electrical power systems and circuit protection products.
  • Dynamic, results-driven team player with the ability to collaborate across various departments and cultures.
  • Capability to manage challenging situations with professionalism and composure.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and SAP.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong customer focus and analytical skills, with a proven problem-solving ability.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
