Overview:

Elixir Technologies is in search of a dedicated Audio-Visual Systems Technician. This role is essential for the effective operation and upkeep of our immersive theaters, exhibits, and live performance venues. The technician will report directly to the Co-Directors of Theater & AV Systems and will play a crucial role in managing all operational facets of lighting, audio, equipment, and AV systems associated with our dynamic presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operation of multi-sensory theaters and related equipment during various presentations.
  • Implement maintenance protocols for theater equipment and maintain accurate logbooks.
  • Ensure the security and functionality of all AV systems, lighting systems, and action equipment.
  • Operate AV and lighting systems based on cues from stage managers or event coordinators.
  • Conduct facility inspections and prepare detailed reports.
  • Guarantee the operational readiness of various performance spaces.
  • Assist with the setup and operation of livestreaming for internal events.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and guests to enhance their experience.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in theater technology.
  • Strong technical background in AV systems and electronic controls.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of large venue audio and video systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Capability to operate various hand and power tools.
  • Physical ability to lift weights up to 75 pounds and perform tasks requiring prolonged standing or walking.
