Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Broadcast Operations Technician to join our team at Hearst Television. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of our on-air signals and equipment from acquisition to distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Signal Maintenance: Ensure the technical integrity of our on-air signals and equipment, including robotic cameras, studio floor directing, and lighting grid control.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate a wide variety of broadcast equipment, including cameras, audio consoles, and control boards.
  • Studio Maintenance: Maintain the appearance of our studios, including cleaning of sets and floors.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to production teams, including prop handling, set dressing, and multimedia computer skills.
  • Event Support: Assist with promotional efforts at station-sponsored community events.
  • Control Room Operations: Work in the control room in technical positions, including camera control, audio, and technical directing.
  • Non-Linear Editing: Perform non-linear editing for TV News-Creative Services Productions.
  • Physical Demands: Lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and sit or stand for long periods of time.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience working as an operations technician at a commercial television station with extensive experience in operating a wide variety of broadcast equipment.
  • Vision: Excellent vision (with or without corrective lenses) with ability to read and distinguish colors.
  • Background: Solid background in operation of broadcast television systems and equipment.
  • Related Experience: Related military experience will be considered.
