Key Responsibilities

Focus Area: Metal Commodity Procurement

Become a vital part of a transformative brand poised to change the landscape of electric trucks and rugged SUVs by:
  • Collaborating closely with the Scout team to identify and evaluate suitable suppliers for parts and services, including conducting pre-sourcing audits to ensure supplier compliance.
  • Developing sourcing strategies and long-term business plans for assigned commodities, leading the sourcing process up to contract award for metal commodities to meet or exceed cost and tooling objectives.
  • Presenting sourcing strategies in a multi-tiered sourcing committee setting.
  • Drafting and executing contractual agreements and nomination documents.
  • Acting as the program manager during the pre-production phase, ensuring supplier industrialization aligns with project requirements regarding timing, cost, and quality.
  • Assessing and implementing technical modifications to parts and services to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Leading cross-functional assessments of suppliers' readiness for mass production, in collaboration with Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams.
  • Managing supplier relationships and performance through established key performance indicators.
Location & Travel Requirements

This role necessitates regular attendance at in-person meetings and events. The position is based at Scout Motors' facility, and candidates should be prepared for occasional travel for company-related events.

  • 2-4 years of experience in a procurement role, with a focus on developing and implementing commodity strategies.
  • Proven negotiation skills specific to automotive metal commodities.
  • Strong analytical abilities, capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the automotive and manufacturing sectors.
  • A track record of fostering excellent relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Experience in managing supplier performance effectively.
  • Program management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proactive and initiative-driven, with the ability to navigate multiple workstreams.
  • A passion for innovation and problem-solving.
  • A collaborative mindset, working as part of a team to achieve significant goals.

Compensation Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible for a base salary and participation in an annual performance bonus program. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's skills and experience. The initial salary range is $110,000-$120,000.
