Key Responsibilities
Focus Area: Metal Commodity Procurement
Become an integral part of a transformative brand poised to redefine the electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV market by achieving the following objectives:
- Collaborate closely with the Scout team to identify suitable suppliers for parts and services, including participating in pre-sourcing evaluations to ensure new suppliers meet our standards.
- Develop sourcing strategies and long-term business plans for assigned commodities and product categories, leading the sourcing process through to contract award, specifically for Metal commodity procurement, to meet or exceed material cost and tooling targets.
- Present sourcing strategies in a multi-tiered sourcing committee environment.
- Draft and execute negotiated contracts and nomination agreements.
- Act as the program manager during the pre-production phase, ensuring that all supplier industrialization meets project requirements regarding timing, cost, and quality.
- Assess and implement technical modifications to parts and services, ensuring adherence to cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Lead cross-functional assessments of suppliers' readiness for mass production in collaboration with Scout Quality, Engineering, and Logistics teams.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance indicators.
This role requires regular attendance at in-person meetings and events. The position is based at Scout Motors' facility. Candidates should be prepared for occasional travel to represent the company at various events.

- 2-4 years of experience in a procurement environment with a focus on developing and executing commodity strategies.
- Proven negotiation skills specific to automotive Metal commodity procurement.
- Strong analytical abilities, capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks in a dynamic setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the automotive and manufacturing sectors.
- A track record of fostering and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders and supplier partners.
- Experience in managing supplier performance.
- Program management expertise.
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible for a base salary and participation in an annual performance bonus program. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is standardized and not influenced by individual candidates.
Initial base salary range = $110,000-$120,000
