We are in search of a seasoned Vice President of Manufacturing Operations to oversee our facility's operations and propel ongoing growth and efficiency.
Position Overview:
The Vice President of Manufacturing Operations will be tasked with managing all facets of our sheet metal fabrication plant, upholding the highest standards of production, quality, and safety.
This role encompasses full P&L accountability for the manufacturing site, which includes precision sheet metal production, coatings, quality assurance, environmental health and safety, and product delivery.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven history in plant management and a fervor for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Provide robust leadership to all plant personnel, nurturing a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability. Guide, mentor, and develop department heads and supervisors to ensure seamless operations throughout the facility. The VP is pivotal in cultivating a culture that achieves efficient and cost-effective business outcomes, alongside exceptional customer service. A composed professional who remains approachable during challenging situations. An inspiring leader who motivates the team to reach significant goals and objectives. A skilled leader in conflict resolution, personnel evaluation, organization, strategic planning, prioritization, and team building. Customer Focused:
Fulfill customer expectations and demands. Address any production or delivery-related customer concerns promptly and professionally. Accountable for the overall success, profitability, and customer satisfaction of all operations.
Operations Oversight:
Supervise all production processes, ensuring that products are manufactured on schedule, within quality benchmarks, and at optimal costs.
Implement and monitor scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and ensure goals are achieved within established cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
Employ capacity management tools to effectively manage labor and equipment resources.Strategic Planning:
Formulate and execute both short-term and long-term operational strategies that align with corporate objectives. Identify opportunities for process enhancements, cost reductions, and capacity expansion.
Quality Assurance:
Guarantee that all products adhere to customer specifications and company quality standards. Collaborate closely with the quality assurance team to resolve any issues and promote continuous improvement in product quality.
Safety & Compliance:
Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety assessments, and ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership and plant management within the sheet metal fabrication sector.
P&L ownership at the General Management and/or VP of Operations level.
Experience in cultivating high-performing teams focused on collaboration and driven by metrics and data, utilizing scorecards, KPIs, and measurable outcomes.
Demonstrated success in leading a manufacturing facility with a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and cost management.Comprehensive knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, equipment, and industry standards.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Experienced in managing customer relationships and contracts;
Familiarity with purchasing, materials management, and supply chain in a high-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment is advantageous.
Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial oversight.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; MBA or other relevant Master's degree preferred.
