Position Overview:

The Vice President of Manufacturing Operations will oversee every facet of our sheet metal fabrication facility, guaranteeing adherence to the highest production, quality, and safety standards. This role encompasses full P&L accountability for the manufacturing site, including precision sheet metal operations, coatings, quality assurance, environmental health and safety, and product delivery. The ideal candidate will be an innovative leader with a robust background in sheet metal fabrication and a proven ability to inspire and manage a diverse workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management: Provide dynamic leadership to all plant personnel, cultivating a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and accountability. Mentor and develop department heads and supervisors to ensure operational efficiency throughout the facility. The VP is pivotal in establishing a culture that drives effective and economical business outcomes, alongside exceptional customer service. A composed and approachable leader, capable of motivating the team to achieve significant objectives.

Innovation & Adaptation: Introduce fresh ideas to promote innovation and facilitate change. Lead continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Adjust and respond to a diverse range of business requirements, from straightforward tactical execution to complex strategic challenges requiring immediate decisions.

Customer Focus: Fulfill customer expectations and demands. Address production or delivery-related customer concerns promptly and professionally. Responsible for the overall success, profitability, and customer satisfaction across all accounts and operations.

Operations Oversight: Supervise all production processes, ensuring timely manufacturing of products that meet quality standards and cost efficiency. Implement and track scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational effectiveness and ensure goals are achieved within budgetary constraints.

Strategic Planning: Formulate and execute both short-term and long-term operational strategies aligned with corporate objectives. Identify opportunities for process enhancements, cost savings, and capacity growth.

Quality Assurance: Ensure all products comply with customer specifications and internal quality standards. Collaborate closely with the quality assurance team to resolve issues and promote ongoing improvements in product quality.

Safety & Compliance: Advocate for a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership and plant management within the sheet metal fabrication sector.

- P&L responsibility at the General Management or VP of Operations level.

- Proven ability to create high-performing teams focused on collaboration, utilizing metrics and data-driven approaches through scorecards and KPIs.

- Demonstrated success in leading a manufacturing facility with a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and cost management.

- Comprehensive knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, equipment, and industry standards.

- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

- Experience in managing customer relationships and contracts.

- Familiarity with purchasing, materials management, and supply chain operations in a high-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment is advantageous.

- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial oversight.

- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; MBA or relevant master's degree preferred.
