Position Summary
The role of the Power Plant Engineer is pivotal in ensuring the effective design, installation, and maintenance of critical electrical systems that support reliable energy production. This position plays a vital role in integrating renewable energy solutions and enhancing energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
As a Power Plant Engineer, your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Electrical Engineering: Design, install, and maintain electrical systems such as generators, transformers, and switchgear to ensure optimal power generation.
  • System Monitoring: Oversee the operation of electrical equipment, ensuring peak performance and efficiency.
  • Safety Protocols: Develop and enforce safety procedures to comply with electrical regulations.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
  • Energy Optimization: Implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and integrate renewable energy sources.
  • Control Systems: Configure and maintain advanced control systems, including DCS and SCADA, for streamlined plant operations.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections to identify potential electrical failures and hazards.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze monitoring system data to track electrical parameters and implement improvements.
  • Project Management: Manage capital improvement projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and contractual obligations.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced skills in electrical system design and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in control systems configuration and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Knowledge of NERC standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective training and stakeholder engagement.

Work Environment
This position may require extended hours and varied shifts, with potential on-call responsibilities. A commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols is essential.

Compensation
The starting salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $150,000, complemented by an annual bonus.
