Position Summary
The Entry-Level Power Plant Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance and oversight of plant electrical systems, which encompass generators, transformers, and control systems, ensuring consistent and reliable power production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical Engineering Duties:
    Assist the Operations & Maintenance Team with fundamental upkeep of electrical systems, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and transmission lines, to promote dependable power generation.
  • Monitor and regulate the performance of generators and associated electrical equipment to maintain optimal efficiency.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts by aiding in diagnosing electrical issues and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of electrical and operational procedures, safety policies, and maintenance programs in compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist in configuring and sustaining control systems, such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, to enhance plant operations.
  • Engage in data analysis from monitoring tools to track electrical parameters, identify trends, and propose enhancements.
  • Participate in the integration and upkeep of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to support grid stability.

Plant Engineering Responsibilities:
Collaborate with external contractors and engineering firms to address field modifications, resolve issues, and prepare necessary reports.

NERC Compliance Duties:
Assist in maintaining the GADS database and perform regular reviews of data, contributing to the preparation of compliance reports.

Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required. Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of electrical systems and a willingness to learn about NERC compliance standards.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn as necessary.

Work Schedule
This position typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule during regular daytime hours, with potential for extended hours and weekend work as needed.

Compensation
Initial compensation ranges from $100,000 to $120,000, inclusive of an annual bonus.
