Position Overview

The Community Resource Coordinator plays a vital role in engaging with diverse cultural groups, particularly focusing on older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers. This position aims to educate and connect the community with available social services and health resources.

At Neighborhood House, we envision a thriving community that is healthy, diverse, and free from poverty and racism. We are dedicated to serving over 16,000 individuals in the Seattle/South King County area through various programs including early learning, youth development, citizenship, employment, health, housing, resource navigation, and support for aging adults. Our commitment extends beyond direct services; we advocate for equitable access to resources and policy changes that promote equity for all.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement tailored outreach strategies to engage specific communities, encouraging participation in support services and educating them about available social services and health systems.
2. Identify and establish partnerships with new organizations to enhance regional networking and build capacity within South King County.
3. Create, update, and disseminate informational materials regarding programs and services available to the community.
4. Plan, coordinate, and execute community outreach activities that resonate with the target community.
5. Assess client needs and coordinate comprehensive referrals with team members for clients requiring more complex health or social services.
6. Provide timely information, referrals, and advocacy to link clients with appropriate services, ensuring follow-up for effective service delivery.
7. Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts and client services in accordance with program policies.
8. Foster strong partnerships with health and community service providers, government entities, and housing authorities.
9. Observe and communicate client needs and service gaps to the team, engaging in collaborative problem-solving.
10. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance program operations.
11. Provide translation services in both English and a primary language to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of clients.
12. Represent the agency in professional networks and activities related to program areas.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field with two years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor's Degree in an unrelated field with four years of paid social services experience; or an Associate Degree with two years of relevant coursework and four years of human services experience.
- Proven experience in connecting with specific communities and a strong network of relationships with community leaders and organizations.
- Bilingual proficiency with strong English skills for document preparation and translation.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in a culturally diverse workplace.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a positive, problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation for frequent travel to client locations.

This position operates in a hybrid model, requiring a minimum of two days on-site per week.
