Drive the Accident & Health (A&H) underwriting strategy by facilitating business development and expansion through establishing strong connections within designated regions and applying effective decision-making to underwrite opportunities that enhance a profitable portfolio.

This position plays a vital role in fostering territory performance for A&H.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage expertise in product lines by conducting assessments to evaluate potential business opportunities and advise on profitable risk selection.
  • Execute intricate underwriting tasks in compliance with all legal and regulatory standards to ensure obligations are fulfilled.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with various agency leaders by employing a high level of business insight to deliver sound underwriting decisions, guarantee personalized service, and secure support for departmental initiatives and growth.
  • Enhance the growth of assigned business lines by reviewing, categorizing, assessing, and pricing complex business, communicating high-risk exposures to senior management, and providing feedback on recommendations.
  • Foster relationships and lead projects by sharing knowledge with colleagues, guiding product review and launch processes, resolving escalated issues, and monitoring the impact of changes to ensure departmental initiatives advance the business.
  • Spearhead profitability and process improvement initiatives by advising senior management on innovative underwriting best practices, directing the development and execution of strategic plans and training programs, and tracking team performance within the assigned territory to identify gaps and promote efficiencies aligned with departmental goals.
  • Manage documentation in accordance with underwriting standards and policies, making informed decisions regarding underwriter recommendations to ensure adherence to profitability objectives.
Qualifications:

Preferred Education:

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Experience:

7 years of relevant experience

Compensation:

Base pay will vary based on education, experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs.

Annual Salary Range:
$121,000 - $182,000

Annual Salary Range: $133,000 - $200,000

Annual Salary Range: $152,000 - $228,000
