Position Title: Laboratory Research Associate at The Wythe Lab

The Wythe Lab is actively seeking a laboratory research associate to become a vital part of our team, dedicated to exploring the molecular foundations of vascular anomalies and cardiovascular conditions, with a particular emphasis on cerebral vasculature. We are looking for an individual who is proactive, enthusiastic about acquiring new skills, highly organized, a collaborative team member, and possesses a solid understanding of fundamental molecular biology or biochemistry. Experience with cell culture, zebrafish, or murine models is highly desirable.

The responsibilities associated with this position include:

Work Responsibilities Breakdown30% - Engaging with murine or zebrafish models, which encompasses animal husbandry, embryo dissection, and tissue imaging.5% - Ensuring laboratory upkeep, managing supply orders, and organizing laboratory equipment.25% - Executing molecular biology and biochemistry methodologies such as gel electrophoresis, DNA manipulation, and PCR.25% - Conducting tissue culture activities including cell propagation and transfection.10% - Performing data analysis and documenting results.

Essential Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience or an equivalent academic background.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of basic molecular biology principles.
  • Experience in the care of murine or zebrafish models and PCR-based genotyping.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, coupled with exceptional organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

This role necessitates standing, squatting, and fine motor skills during experimental procedures and animal care.
