Position Overview:
Leidos is in search of a Lead Program Engineer to oversee a dynamic team operating in a fast-paced setting, tackling complex challenges within the utility sector.

Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will possess a robust educational foundation in civil engineering design. Experience in project management, transmission engineering design, scheduling, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and client relationship management is highly valued.

This role entails coordinating a diverse portfolio of projects through proactive management of workloads, resource scheduling, participation in project meetings, and site assessments with clients and the Leidos team. Collaboration with cross-functional design teams for transmission projects will be essential.

This position is pivotal within a growing team, focusing on managing a significant high-profile client account while also assisting with quality assurance and quality control for other clients.

Primary Focus:
The main objective will be to successfully execute client projects by engaging with clients, securing necessary design inputs, overseeing workflow, and ensuring that quality control is upheld while design packages are delivered punctually.

Occasional travel for client engagements and industry-related events may be necessary.

Project Status:
The project linked to this position is currently in the proposal phase. We are actively looking for innovative and enthusiastic individuals eager to explore potential opportunities.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop a project pipeline through business development with clients and contribute to bid and proposal development.
- Engage with clients to enhance relationships and foster long-term partnerships.
- Advocate for continuous improvement to streamline processes and tools that enhance departmental technical resources through innovation and automation.

The successful candidate will prioritize quality control and safe work practices while ensuring the team's compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.

This role will be a senior member of a design team composed of engineers and designers.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering – Required.
- 10+ years of experience in transmission line design – Required.
- PE Licensure – Preferred.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project, P6, or Workfront is desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of programs is required.
- Expertise in transmission engineering design practices and quality control is essential.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD software is required.
- Experience with MFAD software is preferred.
- Knowledge of NESC is required.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Business acumen with a proven track record of understanding and meeting key project performance metrics.
- A collaborative team player with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
- Willingness to travel, up to 25%.
