Position Overview
As a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer, you will undertake various responsibilities, including serving as Project Manager, conducting calculations and analyses, and assisting in the creation of design drawings. You will collaborate closely with our Transportation Group on a variety of projects related to bridge design, retaining walls, culverts, and drainage systems. Additional responsibilities include:
- Mentoring and overseeing Junior Engineers
- Reviewing and producing structural calculations and drawings
- Contributing to RFPs and potential project pursuits
- Acting as a technical authority on structural issues
- Conducting bridge inspections and preparing necessary documentation
- Leading project meetings with both internal teams and clients
- Performing other related duties as required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structures; Master's degree preferred
- 8-12 years of experience in bridge design
- Structural Engineer (SE) License is highly desirable
- Professional Engineer (PE) License is mandatory
- Familiarity with IDOT, Tollway, and local agencies is beneficial
- Experience with rail projects is a plus
- Proficiency in structural analysis software
- Working knowledge of Microstation and AutoCAD
- Experience in leading tasks and design teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
