Position Overview

CAPPS, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to oversee the Telecommunications Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable department. This role involves providing leadership, guidance, and hands-on support to ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations of the Telecommunications Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable team, including planning, assigning, and supervising staff activities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and ensure compliance with internal controls and agency policies.
  • Facilitate new employee training and ensure effective operational practices.
  • Oversee all billing processes related to telecommunications, collaborating with staff, vendors, and clients to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies between the agency, customers, and telecommunications vendors.
  • Develop and monitor revenue assurance processes, implementing new billing and validation programs as necessary.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and recommend procedural enhancements.
  • Ensure timely production and distribution of reliable monthly invoices to relevant state agencies and political entities.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with telecommunications service contracts and advise management on operational issues.
  • Maintain quality control of the accounts receivable and payable systems, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Experience:
  • A minimum of ten years in the telecommunications sector, with a focus on financial analysis and client support.
  • At least five years of experience in managing accounts receivable and payable operations.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and telecommunications financial practices.
  • Proficient in automated financial systems and accounting software.
  • Ability to influence team performance and resolve work-related challenges.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including team motivation and productivity enhancement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
Additional Requirements:
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
