About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to join our team at Lincoln Financial Group. As a key member of our accounting and reporting team, you will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial statements and other regulatory filings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual SEC and other regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and standards.

  • Analyze and report on financial statements and supporting schedules, providing insights and recommendations to management.

  • Perform routine assignments and projects, leveraging knowledge of accounting principles and standards to deliver high-quality results.

  • Participate in accounting close, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Support Treasury and Legal on strategic transactions, providing financial analysis and guidance.

  • Prepare and/or reconcile other financial data for Investor Relations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Prepare and/or review internal management reporting, providing insights and recommendations to management.

  • Conduct financial analysis on consolidated and business unit results, providing ongoing support to business unit teams and other partners.

  • Review and analyze quarterly and annual SEC filings, financial statements, and other financial data for press releases.

  • Identify and communicate process improvements to management, reducing workloads and improving quality.

  • Promote and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.

  • Provide support with the coordination of SOX and regulatory testing to comply with key controls developed for the group.

  • Identify and research reporting issues arising from application of accounting principles and standards and rules and regulations of the SEC and other regulators and assessing their applicability.

  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assessing the impact, and collaborating with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and 1-3+ years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in Accounting or relevant field.

  • Current CPA or showing progress towards the CPA.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Ability to perform under stress in cases of emergency or critical situations.

  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.

  • Ability to identify and recommend process improvements.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of experience in Financial Reporting OR Public Accounting that directly aligns with specific responsibilities of position.

  • Master's degree in Accounting.

  • Familiarity with Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft general ledger.
