At the Washington State Department of Ecology, we are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Program Manager to lead our team in managing state shorelines and floodplains, as well as coastal and ocean waters. As a key member of our organization, you will have direct influence on the development, implementation, and management of policies and programs related to shoreline management, floodplain management, and coastal zone management.

This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the environment and the communities we serve. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of section administration, including budget, personnel, and policy. You will also oversee a team of professionals who provide statewide services, including policy assistance, regulatory and planning oversight of local governments, financial and technical assistance to local communities, and representation of state interests through membership or participation on the Coastal States Organization and regional initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have at least nine years of experience in an environmental or environmental management field, with a minimum of two years of experience supervising staff and/or project management. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, natural resource management, or business administration, is required. Desired qualifications include experience working with federal partners, building partnerships, and developing program and policies.

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000-$125,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off. Our office is located in Olympia, WA, and we offer flexible work arrangements, including telework options and compressed schedules.
