Job Overview

SCJ Alliance is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our transportation design team, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight and project management expertise on a variety of projects.

As a Transportation Engineer Project Manager, you will be responsible for establishing project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance expectations. You will create, revise, and execute project work plans, delegate responsibilities and tasks, identify resources needed, and manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects and scopes.

You will also be responsible for effectively communicating with coworkers and clients, including creating and delivering engaging, informative, and well-organized presentations, as well as managing project and team budgets and schedule with weekly tracking.

In addition, you will initiate and maintain client relationships, set and manage client expectations, communicate effectively to identify needs and options when project challenges arise, represent SCJ in project meetings, facilitate team/client meetings, and develop lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client loyalty and satisfaction.

You will also participate in business development, looking for new work opportunities with existing and new clients, listening for and seeking out new projects that may exist or are being formulated, identifying add-on opportunities as they relate to specific projects, participating in proposal development for new projects, and participating in interviews and presentations as needed.

Finally, you will provide oversight of project staff, developing design alternatives, supervising design staff in preparation of PS&E, and ensuring QA/QC process is followed.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible transportation engineering experience
  • PE license and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation 3D experience
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • The ability to organize and delegate
  • A healthy balance of logic and creativity
