Communications Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager to join our team at the State of Washington. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans to promote our environmental initiatives and engage with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement communications strategies to promote our environmental initiatives and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement communications plans that align with our organizational goals.
  • Manage and maintain our social media presence, including creating and scheduling content, engaging with followers, and analyzing metrics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, community groups, and government agencies.
  • Provide communications support for special events, including press releases, media advisories, and other promotional materials.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communications strategies.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
