About the Role

The Business Development Director is responsible for driving volume and revenue growth of Kerry's Food Systems into the Foodservice Chain, C-Store, and Direct to Retail (DTR) channels.

This key position requires a strong leader who can leverage resources, develop relationships, and drive cross-functional execution. The successful candidate will develop and drive the Food Systems commercial execution strategy through the construct of the Kerry business model – driving end-to-end growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and support the Meat EUM strategy, building growth strategies that fully leverage the Kerry business model across customer channels and routes to market.
  • Engage and align strategy and business with key business model stakeholders (commercialization & supply chain demand lead, applications, marketing, sales).
  • Drive profitable growth within the Food Systems technology into Foodservice, C-Store, and DTR.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the Food Systems industry – the customers, competitors, market trends, and key market dynamics that influence success.
  • Influence innovation requirements and manage through the Kerry innovation funnel & process.
  • Architect commercial plans, support sales teams to build commercial pipelines, and lead execution of key projects & presentations.
  • Drive application expertise within the EUM team.
  • Build a strong understanding of all Kerry technologies relevant for the technology – and fully align to market and customer needs.
  • Role model Kerry Leadership and effective people & team management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10-15 years' experience, progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in a related capacity or food industry role.
  • Technical background with a food science-based degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Business experience desirable with strong commercial understanding, combined with the ability to drive profitable growth.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters or PhD preferred.
  • Strong project management skills & an ability to lead indirect teams.
  • Strategic thinker and results-driven.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to easily build rapport.
  • Strong ability to influence key stakeholders and drive alignment across the Kerry business model.
  • Experience in customer interaction and customer-driven technical support.
  • Ability to interface and influence other business functions, especially sales, R&D, operations, and senior management within the business.
  • Bias for external perspective, including customers, competitors, and market trends in the Food industry.
