Strategic HR Leader for Business Growth

Starbuck James Ltd is a highly respected business services organisation that offers specialist corporate growth and innovation consulting across a wide range of public and private sector companies.
We are seeking a new Head of HR to act as a key ally to senior stakeholders, reporting to the MD and overseeing the delivery of all HR and talent development across a client group of around 280.
The role is strongly strategic, yet provides a classic generalist service covering employee engagement and relations, resource planning, performance management, and coaching.
Our client group is diverse, often academic, talented, and ambitious. The successful candidate will lead a small fantastic HR team and advocate a deeply-rooted commitment to making the company the most rewarding and inspiring place to work.
Requirements include a solid generalist HR background, supporting business transformation, and a track record of successfully managing people projects from end to end.
The ideal candidate will have directly led an entire HR function of at least 4 people and demonstrate clear strategic thinking, as well as a willingness to stay hands-on across the HR services spectrum.
Gravitas and positive influence are important, as well as contributing to both the senior management team and the wider HR community of the parent company.
Effective communication and a natural customer-focused approach are key attributes.

Basic salary will be circa £65,000 plus a good pension, with home-based work and occasional trips to Oxford and London.
