Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Coordinator to join our team at Children's National Hospital. As a key member of our medical office staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our front office.

About the Role

The Medical Office Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to our physicians and staff, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and performing various other tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors, and provide directions and information as needed
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient records, including demographics, insurance information, and medical history
  • Collect copays, deductibles, and balances, and process payments using credit card machines or cash registers
  • Manage patient communication, including phone calls, emails, and letters
  • Assist with data entry and reporting, and perform various other administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office setting; prior experience in a pediatrician's office preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
