Job Summary

EdLogical Group Corp is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Support Specialist, you will work with at-risk and/or children with disabilities in a school setting, providing exceptional support and services to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Provide instructional support in content areas, as directed by the teacher
  • Implement classroom or social behavior management systems, including coaching students to quickly return to school tasks
  • Intervene during crisis situations, including implementation of Pro-ACT and/or CPI
  • Help maintain a safe and clean physical school environment
  • Supervise students during class breaks and lunch
  • Assist students with daily living tasks, such as eating and using the bathroom
  • Participate in and/or facilitate recreational activities, such as arts and crafts, off-campus trips, and cultural awareness
  • Model ABA methodologies to demonstrate their use in increasing or decreasing targeted student behaviors
  • Maintain consistent awareness of student whereabouts to ensure safety
  • Accurately record data on student behavior, skills progression, and learning objectives
  • Confer with agency staff on student status or the need for additional behavior planning
  • Assist other personnel as needed to support them in completing their work activities
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as injured students or fights
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working in a school or treatment setting with students with learning, social, emotional, or mental disabilities
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance
  • Pro-Act, CPI, and/or CPR certification helpful
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Behavioral Support Specialist will work in a school setting, with occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes. The position requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more pounds. The noise intensity level is moderate to high.
