Job Overview

Position Summary

We are seeking dedicated Radiology Technician Assistants for PRN opportunities.

Shifts may vary between day and night, including hours such as 8am-4:30pm and 11:30pm-8am, with weekend rotations as necessary.

This role is ideal for individuals aspiring to advance their careers in healthcare, particularly within the radiology field. Candidates with prior experience in radiological services, familiarity with human anatomy, and understanding of departmental protocols are preferred. This PRN position provides flexibility, making it suitable for students, with a minimum shift requirement each month. Compensation is based on experience, starting at $16+/hour, plus additional shift differentials. A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required. Key Responsibilities:

1. Welcome patients and manage their transition from waiting areas to examination rooms, ensuring they complete necessary forms when applicable.
2. Assess patient prescriptions to confirm the appropriate examination is conducted based on individual health concerns.
3. Execute all necessary Cerner functions efficiently.
4. Prepare patients for procedures by assisting with clothing changes and other preparations.
5. Collaborate with technologists during examinations, providing support to patients, technologists, and radiologists throughout the process.
6. Retrieve x-rays, medical records, and nuclear medicine reports, as well as develop radiographs when required.
7. Deliver films to radiologists for evaluation.
8. Maintain cleanliness in examination rooms post-procedure and replenish any used materials.
9. Adhere to all compliance requirements associated with the role.
10. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent

Experience:

Required:
0 to 6 months of experience in a related field.

Preferred: Previous exposure to radiological services, a solid understanding of human anatomy, and familiarity with departmental procedures.

Work Environment:

Manual: Requires significant manual dexterity and coordination.
Occupational: Involves notable occupational risks.
Physical Effort: Demands very heavy physical effort, with the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
Physical Environment: Involves considerable exposure to various environmental factors.
