Job Overview

Position Summary

We are seeking dedicated Radiology Technician Assistants for PRN opportunities.

Shifts will vary, including both day and night schedules (8am-4:30pm, 11:30pm-8am, Monday to Friday with weekend rotations as necessary).

This role presents an excellent opportunity for individuals aspiring to advance their careers in healthcare, specifically within the radiology field. Candidates with prior experience in radiological services, a solid understanding of human anatomy, and familiarity with departmental protocols are preferred. This PRN position offers flexible scheduling, ideal for students, with a minimum shift requirement each month. Compensation is competitive, starting at $16+/hour, with additional pay for shift differentials. A high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required. Key Responsibilities:

1. Welcome patients and manage their transition from waiting areas to examination rooms, ensuring they complete necessary documentation.
2. Assess patient prescriptions to confirm the appropriate examinations are conducted based on individual health concerns.
3. Execute all Cerner functions accurately.
4. Prepare patients for procedures by assisting with changing and readiness.
5. Collaborate with technologists during examinations, providing support to patients, technologists, and radiologists throughout the process.
6. Retrieve and manage x-rays, medical records, and nuclear medicine reports, as well as develop radiographs when required.
7. Deliver films to radiologists for evaluation.
8. Maintain cleanliness in examination rooms post-procedure and replenish necessary supplies.
9. Adhere to all compliance requirements associated with the role.
10. Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent

Experience:

Required: No prior experience necessary; however, candidates with up to six months of experience are encouraged to apply.
Preferred: Experience in radiological services, understanding of human anatomy, and knowledge of departmental procedures.

Work Environment:

Manual: Requires significant manual dexterity and coordination.
Occupational: Involves notable occupational risks.
Physical Effort: Requires very heavy physical effort, with the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
Physical Environment: Exposure to various conditions including dirt, odors, noise, and biological materials.
