Position Overview
Nuvance Health is seeking a dedicated Radiology Support Technician for a full-time night shift role, encompassing 40 hours per week. The schedule includes variable night shifts from 11:30 PM to 8 AM, Monday through Friday, with weekend rotations as necessary.
This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about radiology and committed to delivering exceptional patient care. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist radiology technologists during imaging procedures, ensuring efficient and accurate diagnoses for our patients while maintaining high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and manage their flow from waiting areas to examination rooms, ensuring they complete necessary documentation.
- Review patient prescriptions to confirm the appropriate imaging exams are conducted based on their specific medical needs.
- Execute all necessary functions within the electronic health record system.
- Prepare patients for procedures by assisting with changing and positioning them as required.
- Collaborate with technologists during imaging exams, providing support to patients, technologists, and radiologists throughout the process.
- Retrieve and manage x-rays, medical records, and nuclear medicine reports, as well as develop radiographs when needed.
- Deliver films to radiologists for evaluation.
- Maintain cleanliness in examination rooms post-procedure and restock supplies as necessary.
- Adhere to all compliance regulations pertinent to the role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience:
Required: No prior experience necessary; however, 0-6 months of healthcare experience is preferred.
Desired: Previous exposure to radiological services, familiarity with human anatomy, and understanding of departmental protocols.
Working Conditions:
Manual dexterity and significant motor coordination are essential. The role involves considerable physical effort, potentially requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The working environment may expose individuals to various elements including dirt, odors, and noise.
Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is competitive, starting at $23.45.
