Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will assist physicians in interventional procedures and take x-rays and angiographs as ordered by referring physicians under state and registry guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostic Imaging: Take quality diagnostic images, verify physicians' orders, enter patient demographics, and evaluate film.
  • Procedure Assistance: Assist and scrub with radiologists, utilizing universal precautions at all times.
  • Patient Communication: Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and administer and record isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol.
  • Radiation Protection: Observe patients during procedures, report abnormal activity, and ensure radiation protection for patients.
  • Supply Management: Order supplies, inventory, and stock all supplies on a daily basis.
  • Charting and Scheduling: Accurately chart patients' accounts and schedule interventional procedures.
  • Quality Control: Monitor radiographic quality for optimum diagnosis, ensuring all films have proper identification.
  • Compliance: Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum three years of experience in interventional radiology or a related field.
  • Certifications: ARRT certification, BLS, and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Advanced Life Support) certifications.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Scrub experience and a strong understanding of radiology procedures.

Working Conditions:

  • Manual Dexterity: Significant manual skills and motor coordination required.
  • Occupational Risk: Significant occupational risk.
  • Physical Effort: Very heavy effort, exerting up to 50 lbs. force.
  • Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
