Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an experienced Integrated Product Team (IPT) Senior Principal Engineer to lead a dynamic group of skilled professionals. This role is based in Baltimore, MD.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will manage a multidisciplinary engineering team typically exceeding five members for projects with low to moderate risk. This role requires collaboration with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Direct and oversee cross-functional engineering teams throughout the proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery stages of product development.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and support new program acquisition initiatives.
  • Interpret and execute statements of work as directed by program leadership.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines, utilizing Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts.
  • Coordinate with functional departments to ensure appropriate team staffing.
  • Engage with suppliers to clearly communicate project requirements.
  • Provide updates to internal and customer leadership regarding project progress.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a STEM-related field with at least 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience, or a PhD with 4 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Interim Secret clearance prior to employment.
  • Proven experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Technical Lead, or in another leadership capacity within a program office or business function, showcasing team-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a collaborative team environment.
  • Fundamental understanding of Design, Manufacturing, or Testing processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing projects utilizing Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • Proficiency in developing and managing project schedules.
  • PMP certification is advantageous.
  • Possession of an active and current Top-Secret government clearance.

Salary Range: $127,000 - $190,600

This position is contingent upon the ability to acquire and maintain a minimum Interim Secret clearance prior to employment.
