Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Integrated Product Team (IPT)-Senior Principal Engineering Lead to become part of our diverse and qualified team. This role will be based in Baltimore, MD.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will oversee a multidisciplinary engineering team typically exceeding five members for projects of low to medium risk, collaborating with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic work environment characterized by high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative settings. Self-motivation, exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential.

Core Duties:

  • Direct and manage cross-functional engineering teams throughout the proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery stages of product development and production.
  • Assist in proposal development and efforts to acquire new programs.
  • Interpret work statements assigned by program leadership.
  • Develop and adhere to project budgets and timelines, utilizing Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts.
  • Coordinate with functional departments to ensure adequate team staffing.
  • Engage with suppliers to clearly communicate project requirements.
  • Provide updates to internal and customer leadership regarding project progress.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a STEM-related field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with at least 7 years of experience, or a PhD with 4 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Interim Secret clearance prior to employment.
  • Experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Technical Lead, or in another leadership capacity within a program office or business function, demonstrating team-building, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership experience in a collaborative team environment.
  • Fundamental understanding of the Design, Manufacturing, or Testing processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) overseeing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing project schedules.
  • PMP certification is advantageous.
  • Active and current Top-Secret government clearance.

This role is contingent upon the ability to acquire and maintain a minimum Interim Secret clearance prior to employment.

Salary Range: $127,000 - $190,600

The above salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman evaluates various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
