Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an experienced Integrated Product Team (IPT) Senior Principal Chief Engineer to oversee engineering initiatives. This role is based in Baltimore, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will manage a multidisciplinary engineering team typically comprising more than five members for projects with low to medium risk. The role involves collaboration with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic work environment characterized by high expectations and diverse assignments.
Primary Duties Include:
- Direct and guide cross-functional engineering teams throughout the proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery stages of product development.
- Assist in proposal development and new program acquisition initiatives.
- Interpret work statements assigned by program leadership.
- Develop and manage project budgets and timelines, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts.
- Coordinate with functional departments to ensure appropriate team staffing.
- Engage with suppliers to clearly communicate project requirements.
- Provide updates to internal and customer leadership regarding project progress.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a STEM-related field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with at least 7 years of experience, or a PhD with 4 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Interim Secret clearance prior to start.
- Proven experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Technical Lead, or in another leadership capacity within a program office or business function, demonstrating team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership experience in a collaborative team environment.
- Fundamental understanding of Design, Manufacturing, or Testing processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects.
- Proficiency in developing and executing project schedules.
- PMP certification is advantageous.
- Active and current Top-Secret government clearance.
Salary Range: $127,000 - $190,600
This position is contingent upon the ability to acquire and maintain a minimum Interim Secret clearance prior to start.
