Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is currently seeking an Integrated Product Team (IPT)-Senior Principal Chief Engineer Lead to enhance our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This role will be based in Baltimore, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will spearhead a multidisciplinary engineering team typically exceeding five members for projects with low to medium risk, collaborating with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance. The role demands performance in a dynamic work environment characterized by high expectations, diverse tasks, and collaborative settings. The ideal candidate should be self-driven, exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Core Duties:
- Direct and manage cross-functional engineering teams throughout proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery stages of product development and production.
- Assist in proposal creation and new program acquisition initiatives.
- Interpret statements of work as assigned by program leadership.
- Develop and adhere to project budgets and timelines, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts.
- Coordinate with functional departments to ensure appropriate team staffing.
- Engage with suppliers and clearly articulate project requirements.
- Provide updates to internal and customer leadership regarding project progress.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a STEM-related field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with at least 7 years of experience, or a PhD with 4 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Interim Secret clearance prior to commencement.
- Experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Technical Lead, or in another leadership capacity within a program office or business function, demonstrating team-building, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership experience in a collaborative environment.
- Fundamental understanding of the Design, Manufacturing, or Testing processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) overseeing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects.
- Proficiency in developing and executing project schedules.
- PMP certification is advantageous.
- Active and current Top-Secret government clearance.
This role is contingent upon the ability to acquire and maintain a minimum Interim Secret clearance prior to start.
Salary Range: $127,000 - $190,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
