About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Welfare Programs Manager to lead our team in planning and directing foster care, adoptions, and Fostering Futures programs.

Job Summary

The Child Welfare Programs Manager will be responsible for providing direct supervision and support to staff members, ensuring accurate case documentation, and participating in various meetings and activities related to child welfare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual supervision, interview, hire, train, and onboard new staff members.
  • Maintain current program knowledge for foster care, fostering futures, adoption, adoption subsidy, and foster and kinship resource families.
  • Gather statistical data related to foster care and adoptions, program outcomes, and community needs.
  • Participate in unit, division, agency, and community meetings and on committees and task forces related to the work of the department.
  • Occasionally participate in activities outside of normal business hours around foster parent recruitment, foster care, and adoption support and celebration activities.
Requirements:

To be successful as a Child Welfare Programs Manager, you must possess considerable knowledge in social work practice, particularly as it relates to working with family systems and identifying and treating substance abuse, mental health diagnoses, delinquency, and other issues related to child welfare work.

You should also have strong working-knowledge of trauma-informed best practices in child welfare and how trauma and resiliency impact children, their families, and child welfare staff.
