The Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC) is a leading institution in improving the mental health of children and families through clinical care, research, education, and public awareness.

As a Child and Adolescent Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in providing access to treatment for children and families with mental health needs. This position also involves teaching and scholarly expectations, ensuring that you stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Teaching: Supervise trainees from psychology, social work, psychiatry, and medicine, fostering their growth and development as future professionals.
  • Scholarship: Engage in reasonable scholarly activities, such as program evaluation, research, publications, presentations at national meetings, and participation in academic organizations, furthering your expertise and contributing to the field's advancement.
  • Service: Serve on School of Medicine committees and committees within VTCC to enhance and promote the service needs and policy-making functions of the university and hospital.
  • Clinical: Provide diagnostic assessments and psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families in inpatient and outpatient settings. Develop and provide individual, family, and group therapy experiences, as well as clinical specialties like evidence-based practices, substance use, developmental disabilities/autism spectrum disorders.

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Virginia Licensed Clinical Psychologist
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as an employee in VCU Department of Psychiatry

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
