Position Overview

Barkan Management Company, a prominent and well-established diversified property management firm, is in search of a qualified, driven, and experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee and efficiently manage all operational maintenance duties for a Retirement Community.

Key Responsibilities:

The Facilities Operations Manager will be directly accountable for, but not limited to, the following:
  • Creating a vibrant community atmosphere that ensures consistent resident satisfaction and results in exceptional customer service feedback.
  • Exemplifying the standards and behaviors aligned with the core values of Barkan.
  • Building and sustaining strong relationships with residents, staff, and service providers.
  • Negotiating, coordinating, and overseeing services/contracts essential for property operations, ensuring all contractors/service providers meet compliance standards.
  • Organizing and executing service requests to guarantee prompt and satisfactory responses.
  • Coordinating, executing, or supervising unit renovations.
  • Managing interior and exterior painting cycles.
  • Organizing, executing, or supervising preventative maintenance programs for all site equipment in accordance with operating manuals and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Coordinating, executing, or supervising plumbing, carpentry, electrical tasks, and special projects.
  • Acquiring and maintaining accurate inventories of supplies and materials.
  • Coordinating, executing, or supervising all janitorial services on-site.
  • Coordinating, executing, or supervising grounds maintenance.
  • Conducting daily/weekly inspections of buildings and grounds; scheduling all necessary work.
  • Coordinating and supervising third-party service providers.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three years' experience in various maintenance disciplines, including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general building operations.
  • Prior experience in customer service roles.
  • Ability to supervise and manage third-party service providers and contractors effectively.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with property management software is preferred.
  • Uniforms are required and provided.
