Job Overview

The State of Montana is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the Contracts and Procurement Unit, you will be responsible for managing contract and procurement operations for the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee procurement of complex acquisitions utilizing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Invitations for Bids (IFBs), and limited solicitations.
  • Manage IT procurement requests, procurement cards, and contract management.
  • Conduct market research and identify Federal and State rules and regulations, State procurement statutes, rules, and policies to ensure department compliance.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet departmental needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify procurement opportunities and develop solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Communication, or a closely related field.
  • Two (2) years' work experience in technical writing, contract administration, research, and project management.
  • Four (4) years of related work experience will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
