Position Overview
The Automation Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development and testing of both software and hardware solutions for various machine tool and automation projects. This position requires a proactive approach in a fast-paced and professional setting, where skilled individuals are recognized for their contributions and gain invaluable experience with advanced technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers and clients to ascertain machine requirements and establish specifications for machine functions, user interfaces, and quality control to ensure high reliability.
  • Design and develop innovative software and hardware solutions to fulfill machine specifications.
  • Research and evaluate components and technologies from suppliers to enhance control reliability and reduce costs.
  • Implement customer standards for dedicated equipment and actively participate in design reviews.
  • Assist in the startup of machines and provide troubleshooting support alongside mechanical and electrical technicians.
  • Configure drives, network communications, and other intelligent machine devices.
  • Calibrate machines to ensure positional accuracy and dynamic responsiveness.
  • Provide remote customer support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Update documentation and contribute to the creation of machine operation and service manuals.
  • Travel is minimal (approximately 10%) for project engineering or customer support as needed.

Qualifications
  • An Associate's degree in electrical engineering, electrical technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field, along with 3-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Basic understanding of machine logic and programming concepts.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Professional demeanor with the capability to represent Unisig favorably in all circumstances.

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly sits throughout the day and utilizes depth perception, peripheral vision, and close focus.
  • Frequently operates a computer and related equipment.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • May need to stand and move throughout the facility occasionally.
  • Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and carrying may be required.
