POSITION OVERVIEW:
Messer Cutting Systems, Inc. is a leading provider of advanced cutting technologies for the metal fabrication sector. We are seeking a skilled individual to join our Field Service team, focusing on the Seattle, WA region.

The Technical Service Specialist will oversee the installation, maintenance, and servicing of Messer Cutting Systems machinery across North America at various client locations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and conduct preventive maintenance on multi-axis CNC machinery at client sites throughout North America
  • Execute machine and software enhancements
  • Educate clients on the correct operation and upkeep of the equipment
  • Safely manage 480VAC systems and adhere to relevant safety protocols
  • Analyze mechanical layout diagrams, electrical schematics, and material lists
  • Timely completion of necessary documentation (e.g., service reports, discrepancy reports, expense reports, etc.)
  • Maintain Customer Satisfaction ratings as defined by the Service Manager
  • Provide technical support via telephone as needed
  • Conduct in-house final product evaluations as required
  • Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and implement proper lockout/tagout procedures

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in machine installation and repair is preferred
  • An Associate's Degree in Electronics, Robotics, or Automation technologies is preferred

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Familiarity with Plasma, Laser, and Oxyfuel cutting technologies
  • Proficiency with multi-axis CNC machinery
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software
  • Competence in using power and construction tools, including hammer drills, impact guns, and cordless drills
  • Excellent verbal communication abilities
  • Strong customer service orientation with a "customer-first" approach
  • Self-driven with the capability to work autonomously

Note:
This role necessitates extensive travel, often on short notice.
