Job Summary

Messer Cutting Systems, Inc. is a leading global supplier of cutting solutions for the metal-working industry. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join our team in the San Antonio, TX area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, install, and perform preventive maintenance of multi-axis CNC equipment at customer sites throughout North America.
  • Perform machine and software upgrades to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Train customers on the proper use and maintenance of the equipment, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and protocols, including proper handling of 480VAC and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
  • Interpret mechanical layout drawings, electrical schematics, and bills of materials to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Achieve and maintain high customer satisfaction ratings, as established by the Service Manager.
  • Provide technical support and assistance via phone and in-person, as required.
  • Conduct final product testing and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in machine installation and repair, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Associate's Degree in Electronics, Robotics, or Automation technologies, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Plasma, Laser, and Oxyfuel cutting processes.
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines and CAD/CAM software.
  • Strong oral communication and customer service skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong attention to detail.
Travel Requirements

This position requires 95-100% travel, frequently on short notice, to customer sites throughout North America.
