Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Athletic Performance will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of athletic performance programs for Stony Brook University's athletic teams. This position will work closely with the coaching staff and athletic administration to ensure the success of our student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement athletic performance programs that align with the university's athletic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to design and implement training plans that enhance athletic performance and reduce injury risk.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to student-athletes on proper training techniques and nutrition strategies.
  • Conduct regular assessments of athletic performance and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to secure resources and support for athletic performance programs.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in athletic performance or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing athletic performance programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
