Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Athletic Performance will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of athletic performance programs for Stony Brook University's athletic teams. This position will work closely with the coaching staff and athletic administration to ensure the success of our student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement athletic performance programs that align with the university's athletic department goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to design and implement training plans that enhance athletic performance and reduce injury risk.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to student-athletes on proper training techniques and nutrition strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze athletic performance data to inform program development and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to support athletic performance initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. exercise science, sports management, etc.).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in athletic performance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of athletic performance principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position with variable shift hours. The successful candidate will be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
