About the Role

Mud Bay is seeking a skilled Facilities Manager to join our Store Development team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining safe, functional, and beautiful spaces across our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Ensure Mud Bay facilities are maintained proactively, catching issues early and often. Utilize maintenance checklists, prioritize time in facilities, and solicit input from staff to assess needs.
  • Helpdesk Ticket Solutions: Utilize Mud Bay's ticketing system to track work orders, stay in touch with stakeholders, and keep accurate records of work.
  • Maintenance Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of maintenance needs and work performed. Schedule work and prioritize time on an ongoing basis. Keep workspace, vehicle, tools, and materials organized and accessible.
  • Trades Work: Accomplish a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, finish work, appliance repair, hardware installation, drywall repair, painting, minor plumbing and electrical work.
  • Business Partnerships: Hire and coordinate outside service providers for repairs and maintenance when appropriate. Seek multiple bids to optimize for quality and cost.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Proactively reach out to teammates, collaborators, and Store Muddies to share information. Communicate in a timely, respectful, and clear manner.
  • On-Call Responsibilities: Share on-call responsibility on a rotating basis to ensure facilities emergencies are resolved and Muddies are supported.
  • Safe Working Environment: Maintain a safe working environment for self and fellow Muddies. Model safe behavior and best practices, slowing down assessment and planning before acting.
Requirements

  • Trade Skills: 3+ years of experience working in facilities maintenance or related trades, with knowledge of tools, materials, and practices involved in construction and maintenance.
  • Vendor Experience: Proven track record of hiring, scheduling, and communicating with subcontractors and service providers.
  • Problem-Solving: Encounter new problems with a learning mindset, locate resources, and find creative ways to solve issues.
  • Collaboration: Eager to work with teammates and stakeholders to identify issues, brainstorm solutions, and accomplish projects.

Job Details
  • Hours and Location: This is a full-time, non-exempt role with flexible schedule options. Based out of Seattle, WA, with daily travel throughout Mud Bay's Northern range and occasional travel across Mud Bay's entire range.
  • Primary Team: Facilities Managers report to the Senior Facilities Manager, and they do not have direct reports. This role is a member of the Store Development team, which runs Real Estate & Leasing, Store Design & Visual Merchandising, and Construction & Facilities.
  • Compensation: Starting wage will be between $28.55 and $44.43 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
  • Benefits: This position is eligible for Mud Bay's standard benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision; Mud Bay's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP); staff discount on Mud Bay purchases; 401k available; and funds employee contributes to 401k are matched with a contribution into Mud Bay's ESOP once eligible.
