Job Overview

The Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability, configuration, and dependable functioning of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises the operation of servers, workstations, printers, desk phones, smartphones, software installations, security updates, wireless networks, switches, and patch management to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Oversees the installation and upgrades of computer hardware and software, virtual servers, and automation processes for integration.
  • Designs, modifies, and manages database tables, forms, queries, and reports.
  • Conducts and maintains database replication tasks.
  • Executes server administration duties, including user/group management, security permissions, group policies, print services, and monitoring event log warnings and errors, ensuring seamless operation of system architecture components.
  • Monitors data center health using established management tools and assists with SQL-related issues, including the setup, testing, and maintenance of new servers as required.
  • Performs regular and scheduled system audits.
  • Educates and develops staff on corporate systems, application updates, and emerging technologies.
  • Conducts monthly server maintenance and updates.
  • Ensures compliance with internal infrastructure requirements across all hardware.
  • Provides support for internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments as necessary.
  • Collaborates with the help desk and other teams to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and offer additional technical support when required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment

Team Members may encounter secondhand tobacco smoke, particularly those working in specific areas. The noise level in the workplace is typically moderate but can occasionally become high for brief periods.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Capability to carry, reach, twist, bend, and squat frequently.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age requirement is 21 years.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between locations are required.
  • A four-year degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server, database operations, and knowledge of SQL programming language is essential.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, such as Hyper-V, is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of systems and networking software, hardware, and protocols is required.
  • Experience with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft products, including on-premises Exchange, is essential.
  • Experience with domain controllers, DNS, Group Policy, and DHCP protocols is required.
  • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, or other programming languages is a plus.
  • Knowledge of system security measures and data backup/recovery processes is important.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level relational database systems is beneficial.
  • IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are advantageous.
  • Clear and effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing, are required.
  • Compliance with pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing is mandatory.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid gaming license from the appropriate regulatory authority.
  • Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on departmental needs and special events is necessary.
